Endowed Scholarships

About the Scholarships
Honoring designated individuals for their leadership of, and service to, the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair and/or the Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation.

Proceeds from the Scholarship Funds

  • Proceeds are defined as the earnings on the endowed funds. Scholarship awards may not exceed those earnings.
  • In the case of scholarship funds set up at designated high schools, proceeds from those funds must be used to defray tuition and fees for grades 9 through 12 at the designated school itself, not to a graduating senior. In the case of scholarship funds set up at designated elementary or middle schools, proceeds from those funds must be used to defray tuition and fees for the highest grade level at the school.
  • In the case of scholarship funds set up at designated colleges or universities, each honoree may further designate that proceeds from his or her named scholarship fund must be:
    • Awarded to a graduate of a specific eligible high school.
    • Awarded to someone from a specific eligible parish or community.
    • Awarded to someone pursuing a particular field of study.
    • Any of the above combined.

Eligible Institutions

  • Must be located within one of the designated parishes.
  • Must have 501c3 or equivalent designation from the IRS.
  • Must be set up to manage endowed scholarships.
